POW/MIA Recognition Day

So! September 16th is POW/MIA Recognition Day!

Seems like a holiday like this would have a lot of potential for some interesting stories. Whether your character has been caught behind enemy lines, or lost someone in the heat of battle or is struggling with letting someone in their life go without the closure that most people get, there's a story there.

(And here is a little bit more about the holiday.)

Just make sure your header isn't MIA...

The Proper-False (Part six, PG-13, 1584 words)

Title: The Proper-False
Author: lilian_cho
Rating: PG-13 for kissing and mild swearing.
Fandom: Original
Pairing: Adrien/Nicholas
Wordcount: 1584
Warnings: Adrien found James McAvoy's voice sexy; what else is new? I swear I'll stop writing scenes where Nicholas brush his teeth. Probably. Next time, it'll be Adrien's turn to brush his teeth!
Bonus: Toddler Nicholas' last frontier and Supplies for Sam

A/N: Answers holidaysmut's aviation and awkward moments challenges and writing_game's prompts: adjust, eXact, meandering, nod, obsession, of age, rashly, skin of her smile, shortage, standard lunatic, usefulness and values.

Unbeta-ed as of yet, please do point out jarring SpaG and/or continuity errors.
Writing that last scene was hard. Hopefully it flows/reads okay. I wish we have a U.S. pickery comm. like britpickery and hp_britglish =( Would make my life easier.

Title: Lord Amherst's Commission
Author: lilian_cho
Rating: R for creepy sexual implications
Fandom: Original
Pairing: Future m/m down the road...
Wordcount: 500~
Warnings: More creepiness/DO NOT WANT than slashiness. At least it wasn't as disturbing as part one?
A/N: Part of the [personal profile] simulacra 'verse.
Answers holidaysmut's Unique names challenge.

I'll go back to writing "The Proper-false" now. I figured an unrelated writing output is better than zero writing output? Don't answer that.

August 17 is Medical Dosimetrist's Day!

What is a Medical Dosimentrist? I wondered the very same thing. Turns out they are really important!

I was most intrigued by the suggestions for how to celebrate Medical Dosimetrist's Day:

  • Host a reception for hospital/facility staff in the medical dosimetry department. Invite them to see what you do! (Offering some type of food – ice cream, bagels, coffee, cookies, etc – provides an additional incentive for people to stop by!). Or maybe you could bring in a massage therapist to provide chair massages to your colleagues on National Medical Dosimetrist's Day!

There were other suggestions, but a massage party with bagels sounds like the way to go to me. Cancer treatment might not seem particularly romantic, but you just never know where romance might bloom. Have you hugged your medical dosimetrist today?

Anyone who brings me a delicious bagel with cream cheese is exempt from headers forever.

The Proper-False (Part five, PG-13, 1500 words)

Title: The Proper-False
Author: lilian_cho
Rating: PG-13 for mild swearing
Fandom: Original
Pairing: Adrien/Nicholas
Wordcount: 1500
Warnings: Nicholas still doesn't care for Michael Jackson. As always, there's Chinese jokes.
A/N: Answers holidaysmut's aviation, awkward moments and cuddle challenges and writing_game's afraid prompt.
Unbeta-ed as of yet, please do point out jarring SpaG and/or continuity errors.
Not as much cuddling as I'd like ^^;; Also, Nicholas' phone doesn't have auto-complete. I feel that the last third is not that well-developed/fleshed out. Will fix when the whole thing is beta-ed.

August 7 is National (US) Lighthouse Day!

Everybody's favorite lit-up phallic symbols! They are sure to inspire sexy-time fics, y/y?

Or perhaps you'd rather take the prompt more literally and write about a visit to a lighthouse. Or maybe a fic about a lighthouse keeper? I can see your hero now, lighting the wick and leaning out over the gallery railing, singing "Candle on the Water" like Helen Reddy in Pete's Dragon. *happy sigh*

More information about National Lighthouse Day here.

Headers light the way to awesome fics!

Apologies for verbosity/slow pace, will try to fix that when having the whole thing beta-ed. I'll try to have them on the plane by Part Five, 'kay? Or at least at the airport.
